An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final ½ furlong when Whiskey And Water (GB), placed second, ridden by Ben Robinson, interfered with Star Talent (IRE), placed third, ridden by Jason Hart and Surrey Warrior (USA), placed fourth, ridden by Ben Curtis.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Whiskey And Water (GB) and found the interference to be accidental as Whiskey And Water (GB) had hung quickly right despite the rider’s best efforts causing STAR TELENT (IRE) to be crowded for room, which inturn caused Surrey Warrior (USA) to become momentarily unbalanced.
The placings remained unaltered as it was found that at no stage did Hart stop riding and the gelding was always being held by Whiskey And Water (GB) to be beaten a head at the line.
