- Stewards Report
Permission was given for Zeyzoun (FR) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
The Raceday Privilege request in relation to Raajihah (GB), trained by Mitchell Hunt, was not submitted.
Hunt was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all Raceday Privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
It was noted that inside the 3 furlong marker, the rider of Mercurist (GB), placed sixth, had to momentarily ease due to the gelding becoming short of room for a number of strides as the field to Mercurist (GB)’s left- hand side tightened and the rail configuration to her right moved slightly out.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs out involving Bombastic (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Darragh Keenan and Peachey Carnehan (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Faye McManoman.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Keenan had shifted Bombastic (IRE) slightly right-handed at the same time as Peachey Carnehan (GB) was making ground on his outside which resulted in McManoman having to ease in her riding.
As a further result of this, the riders of Tawaafoq (GB), placed eighth, and Hedging (IRE), unplaced, were both denied clear runs as the field tightened and were forced to switch their mounts right-handed for clear running.
Ciaran McKee, the rider of Major Valentine (GB), unplaced, was also present in the enquiry but it was found he was not involved in the interference.
Following the race, Ciaran McKee reported that Major Valentine (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Georgia Dobie reported that Tawaafoq (GB), placed eighth, ran too freely and was short of room from 2½ furlongs out; Trevor Whelan reported that Poeta Brasileiro (IRE), unplaced, was repeatedly short of room from approximately 2½ furlongs out and Joshua Bryan reported that Zeyzoun (FR), unplaced, was denied a clear run continually from 2½ furlongs out.
Liam Keniry reported that Show Me Heaven (GB), unplaced, lost its action behind approximately 2 furlongs out; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
