King's Caper (GB), placed second, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and shifted right-handed carrying Precision Storm (GB), placed fourth, onto G For Gabrial (IRE), placed third, which was hampered, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of King's Caper (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately ½ a furlong out, when the winner, Sesame Birah (IRE), ridden by Daniel Tudhope, interfered with King's Caper (GB), placed second, ridden by Franny Norton.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Sesame Birah (IRE)’s placing as King's Caper (GB) had received only minimal interference and always appeared to be held on the run to the line, before being beaten a head.
The interference was found to be accidental as Sesame Birah (IRE) had hung left-handed despite Tudhope’s best efforts to correct the filly, resulting in King's Caper (GB) receiving a light bump.
