Permission was given for Penwortham (IRE) to go early to post and Gossiping (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Approaching the first bend, the free running Elerfaan (IRE), placed second, was checked to avoid the heels of QUEEN’S SARGENT (FR), unplaced, and shifted right carrying Humble Gratitude (GB), placed sixth, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and it had not improved the placing of Elerfaan (IRE).
Approaching the ½ furlong marker, Robero (GB), unplaced, lugged quickly right handed causing QUEEN’S SARGENT (FR), unplaced, to be checked in its run but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Gin In The Inn (IRE), drawn 3, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started thereby enabling the gelding to break quickly.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Elerfaan (IRE) hung right and Shane Grey reported that QUEEN’S SARGENT (FR) was never travelling.
