He ran well and then lost his way a little bit and lost his confidence and then he was nearly brought down at Ballinrobe the last day and we weren't at the races that day. Jody said it rode a messy sort of race and they went ten different gallops and were quickening and slowing and racing in different places. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Sizing Julie, trained by J.J.Lambe, for failing to lodge the passport in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i)
The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that S. Perry, rider of Holy Motivation, had attempted to weigh out at 4 lbs overweight, none of which was declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S. Perry was in breach of Rule 198(vii) and having considered his record in this regard, they suspended him for 3 racedays. Furthermore, the Stewards allowed a request to substitute S. Perry with L.C. McKenna
J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Miss Echrad trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount slipped, lost its action and was pulled up thereafter.
