The Stewards enquired into an incident early in the home straight involving Barbary Master (GB), ridden by E
Walsh, placed fifth, Don't Matter Now, ridden by J.S. McGarvey, placed second, General Counsel, ridden by B.J
Cooper, placed fourth, and Imminent Arrival, ridden by P.D. Kennedy, unplaced, where it appeared an incident occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. E. Walsh felt that his mount kept straight after jumping the third last and was bumped slightly from his inside. J.S. McGarvey stated that his mount went a little right after the third last but was satisfied that he was well clear of the horses behind him and had not contributed to the incident in any way. B.J. Cooper stated that the gap in front of him closed after the third last and cost him some forward moment. P.D. Kennedy stated that his mount made a mistake at the third last and stumbled. He stated that his mount veered left and he corrected his mount as soon as he was aware that Mr. Cooper was moving into the gap on his outer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards gave P.D
Kennedy the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and took no further action other than to advise him to ride with more awareness in future.
