W.J. Lee, rider of Rawaan (GB) trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not act on the ground

The Stewards on receipt of a post race report from W.J. Lee, rider of Rawaan (GB), that his mount had failed to handle the ground, sought an explanation from M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer of Rawaan(GB), as to the running of his filly in this race on ground declared as heavy, having withdrawn his charge from Naas on March 25th, on ground described as soft to heavy, soft in places. Evidence was heard from W.J. Lee, who confirmed that in complying with Rule 213(ii), he felt that his mount did not handle the ground which may have affected the performance. In his opinion today's ground was very holding. M.D. O'Callaghan stated that this filly was withdrawn from Naas because the ground was very holding. In his opinion, the filly has a high knee action and would handle soft or loose heavy ground. He added that he walked the track today prior to racing and felt the ground was suitable and he was unable to confirm his opinion as W.J. Lee had no prior riding engagement. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation of M.D. O'Callaghan and acknowledged that W.J. Lee had complied with his responsibilities under Rule 213.
