Leaving the stalls, Hannibal Barca (IRE), placed fourth, jumped left-handed bumping McTigue (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and it had not improved the placing of Hannibal Barca (IRE).
Approximately 1 furlong after the start, Sissoko (IRE), placed second, edged slightly right-handed crowding McTigue (IRE) which in turn made contact with Imperial Fighter (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved, and it had not improved the placing of Sissoko (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the 2-furlong marker when the winner, Luxembourg (IRE), ridden by Ryan Moore interfered with McTigue (IRE), unplaced, ridden by R.
P.
Cleary.
Moore was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right-handed when insufficiently clear of a weakening McTigue (IRE), which was briefly hampered.
Following the race, David Egan reported that Bayside Boy (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run for some distance, approaching and passing 2 furlongs out.
He also stated the colt hung right-handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Royal Patronage (FR), unplaced, was struck into on its left hind.
