Prior to this race, a query was raised with Suzy Smith, the trainer of Clondaw Bisto (IRE), into the reasons why she was running the gelding here at Fontwell on going officially described as Good, having reported that the gelding would prefer an easier surface after running over the same going at Plumpton on 25 February 2019.
The trainer stated that she felt that the gelding would likely perform better on a softer surface, but was happy for Clondaw Bisto (IRE) to take its chance, given the limited opportunities after a prolonged dry spell.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Buble (IRE), placed seventh, was lame on its right fore.
