Permission was given for Galactic Glow (IRE) to go to post early and to wear a red hood in the preliminaries which was removed at the start, and for Zulu Girl (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the bend shortly after the start, when Galactic Glow, placed fourth, ridden by Alec Voikhansky, interfered with General Lee, placed second, ridden by James Doyle.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Voikhansky was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Voikhansky was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had eased his mount back and maneuvered right-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Doyle to check off heels.
Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Zulu Girl (GB), placed fifth, ran flat.
