Following concerns raised by the riders regarding the low sun obscuring their vision at the last two fences, the Stewards consulted with the Clerk of the Course and ordered that these obstacles should be by- passed for this race.
Callum Bewley the rider of Get Out The Gate (IRE), placed second, was suspended for 7 days for using his whip above the permitted level from turning into the home straight.
Paul O’Brien, the rider of the winner, Almazhar Garde (FR) was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from after the by-passed second last fence.
Following the race, Henry Brooke reported that Raecius Felix (IRE), made a bad mistake six fences out and he pulled the gelding up.
The Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Almazhar Garde (FR), had bled from the left nostril.
