Jason Watson, the rider of Mabo (GB), was unseated approaching the final furlong.
Watson was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that no other horse or rider was involved and was caused by Mabo (GB) clipping heels with the weakening Agent Of Fortune (GB), placed fourth, whilst improving for a run, resulting in Mabo (GB) becoming unbalanced and unseating Watson.
The winner, Blue Artemis (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 12 October 2021 where the filly finished sixth of eight, beaten by 11 lengths.
James Fanshawe’s representative’s explanation that the filly appreciated its first run in a Handicap, the step up in trip of 7f to 1m, and the first-time application of a tongue-tie was noted.
Blue Artemis (GB) was routine tested.
