The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that L.T. McAteer, rider of Singing'n'dancing, had weighed in at 1.2lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was riding at his minimum weight and had a drink after weighing out which contributed to the increase in weight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that L.T. McAteer was in breach of Rule 231
Having taken his good previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned L.T. McAteer. Mr. Hugh Williams, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry.
