The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Red Haired Mary, ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced , Soebroto, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed fifth and Quick Sketch, ridden by R.P. Cleary, unplaced . Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action. The Stewards spoke with J.F.O'Shea, trainer of Quick Sketch, concerning the conduct of his horse in this race. The Stewards advised J.F.O'Shea, that, a repeat performance may render his charge liable to a suspension. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Quick Sketch, at the request of trainer, J.F.O'Shea, and reported the animal to be post race normal.

An extended handicap for two yrs old only which are E.B.F. eligible (80 = 9st 7lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 7lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 80 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 7lb. Subsequently, the excess over 80 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
