Permission was given for Haraz (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted on the chute.
The winner, Axel Jacklin (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chelmsford on 17 September 2020 where the gelding finished last of twelve, beaten by 18¼ lengths.
Chelsea Banham’s representative’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from being able to get an easier lead on this occasion and seemed to appreciate a return to Lingfield was noted.
Axel Jacklin (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, George Rooke reported that Soyounique (IRE), which started favourite and finished second, ran too free.
