Adam Wedge, the rider of Arcade Attraction (IRE), placed fifth, was questioned regarding his riding in the home straight.
He explained that after being pushed wide rounding the home bend and losing ground, he had to gather and rebalance his horse.
Wedge added that the gelding then made a mistake when jumping the third last, after which he gave him one hit with the whip, to which there was no real response.
Being mindful that it was the horses first attempt at an extended three miles, Wedge advised that he wanted to negotiate the final two fences safely, before fully asking Arcade Attraction (IRE) for its finishing effort.
He further reported that he was pleased with the way that the gelding had stayed on, but also considered he had achieved his best possible placing; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of Arcade Attraction (IRE) found it to be lame on its left-fore.
Following the race, Charlie Deutsch reported that Cuban Pete (IRE), placed seventh, made a bad mistake at the second fence and was never travelling thereafter; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to Reve (GB)al any abnormalities, Sean Houlihan reported that From The Heart (IRE), placed sixth, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding lost its left-fore shoe and Richard Patrick reported that Tinkers Hill Tommy (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
