Foreseeable Future (FR), unplaced, hung left in the final 2 furlongs and again in the final furlong causing Fircombe Hall (GB), placed seventh, and Grandads Best Girl (GB), unplaced, to be short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Donizetti (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 27 September 2021 where the gelding finished eleventh of thirteen, beaten by 10¾ lengths.
Keith Dalgleish’s representative’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the application of a visor for the first time, was noted.
Following the race, Phil Dennis reported that Rockley Point (GB), unplaced, was never travelling.
Billy Garritty reported that Fircombe Hall (GB), placed seventh, was denied a clear run in the final 2 furlongs.
Joanna Mason reported that One For The Ladies (GB), placed eighth, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding was slightly lame on its right-fore.
