An enquiry was held to consider whether Robert Dunne, the rider of Moayadd (USA), which finished last of the eight finishers, had continued in the race when the horse appeared to be very tired.
The rider and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed and recordings of the incident were viewed.
The Veterinary Officer stated that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities and that Moayadd (USA) was recovering within normal parameters.
The rider explained that, in his opinion, Moayadd (USA) was not tired but was quirky and had pulled himself up.
Dunne continued that having jumped the second last slowly he allowed Moayadd (USA) to come back to a trot to ensure that he was happy with the way the gelding was moving before continuing to complete the course.
Dunne’s explanation was noted.
The performance of West Drive (IRE), which was pulled up, was considered.
The representative of Gary Moore could offer no explanation for the gelding's performance.
West Drive (IRE) was routine tested.
