Tranquil Sea ended the season on a high by taking this Grade 1 contest by two-lengths. Trainer Edward O'Grady revealed that nothing went right for his six-year-old at Cheltenham but he didn't have a hard race at the Cotswolds and a recent confidence boosting win at Limerick was also a help going into today.

The winner took it up entering the straight and went on well under Andy McNamara to hold off the brave Fiveforthree who ran a blinder following his run earlier in the week.

A point-to-point winner, before purchased by O'Grady, the plan now is to go chasing with the Sea Raven gelding.

Fiveforthree was the one to take out of the race, and connections may now be ruing not coming here without running earlier in the week, as it was sure to take the edge of the six-year-old who had a hard encounter at Cheltenham too.

Trafford Lad was sent off favourite but failed to really quicken with the winner or Fiveforthree after the second last. He has had a hard campaign and is still one to look forward to next season while Woodbine Willie claimed fourth and still has a bit to find at the very tough level.

Rinroe never really got into contention and was being niggled along down the back and has just failed to live up to his reputation.
