Permission was given for Indy Five (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
ARAMAIC (IRE), trained by David Dennis, was late to enter the Parade Ring due to its rider Gavin Sheehan being delayed weighing out, after having pulled up his mount in the previous race.
The Starter reported that David Bass, the rider of Wandrin Star (IRE); Mr Joshua Newman, the rider of The Kings Writ (IRE); Tom Scudamore, the rider of Gwencily Berbas (FR); Michael Nolan, the rider of Rolling Dylan (IRE); Charlie Todd, the rider of Psychedelic Rock (GB); Lilly Pinchin, the rider of Valadom (FR); Gavin Sheehan, the rider of Indy Five (IRE); and Alan Johns, the rider of Dancing Shadow (IRE), had failed to walk or jig-jog into the start.
As a 7lb claiming amateur, Mr Newman was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The riders and the Starter were interviewed, and recordings of the incident were shown.
Bass, Mr Newman, Scudamore, Nolan, Todd, Pinchin, Sheehan and Johns were all suspended for 1 day for misconduct at the Start.
The performance of Aso (FR), which started second-favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
Venetia Williams could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Aso (FR) failed to reveal any abnormalities other than Aso (FR) had lost its left-fore shoe.
