The winner, Slipway (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Exeter on 10 November 2021 where the gelding was pulled up.
Ben Pauling’s explanation that Slipway (IRE) had benefitted from being ridden with more restraint on this occasion, was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Ahead Of The Field (IRE), which started joint-second favourite and finished seventh, beaten by 29 lengths was considered.
Emma Lavelle’s explanation that the gelding had failed to stay the 3 mile trip on this occasion, having previously won over 2 miles 4½ furlongs was noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Miss Jeanne Moon (IRE), placed fifth, lost its left-fore shoe.
