- Stewards Report
An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Galurin (FR), which had refused to line up and was withdrawn by the Starter at 7.
Alastair Ralph was interviewed by telephone.
As the gelding had also been reluctant to line up, having to be led in at the start before consenting to jump off with the rest of the field at Doncaster on 5 April 2021, Ralph was informed that any future similar behaviour from Galurin (FR) may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
An enquiry was held to consider interference midway down the back straight on the final circuit involving Blazing Saddles (GB), placed second, ridden by Kieren Buckley, and the winner, Mystic Court (IRE), ridden by Tom Scudamore.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, Buckley was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany him in the enquiry, but declined.
Buckley was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he had manoeuvred slightly right-handed after looking to his right, resulting in contact being made with Mystic Court (IRE), where it ought to have been obvious to the rider that interference would occur as a result of his actions.
As an effect of this Mystic Court (IRE) had to be manoeuvred left-handed in order to stay on its racing line.
Following the race, Brendan Powell reported that Nuriel (GER), placed fourth, hung left-handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Caroline's Quest (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
