M.P. Walsh, rider of Steer Clear trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Steer Clear, trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at it's nostrils post race as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

A steeplechase for five years old and upwards which at entry are rated 106 or less (also open to horses which at entry are rated 107-116)
Weights - 5-y-o 10st 11lbs; 6-y-o and up 11st 2lbs; Horses that have not run two times in steeplechases and/or do not have a published handicap steeplechase rating may enter and run at the discretion of the handicapper provided their performances are rated 116 or less
Penalties - Performances before 27th February - for every 1lb above the rating of 106 1lb extra On or after 27th February - for each race won 5lb extra
