The Stewards enquired into an incident before the turn into the straight involving Milford Maggie, ridden by A.F. O'Neill, placed fifth and My Betty, ridden by Mr A.J. Walsh, placed fourth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 214, having ridden carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for seven race days.
