The Stewards fined D.M. Christie, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Bullock Harbour, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. The Stewards received a report from Turf Club Starter,Mr.P.F.Graffin, that L.P. Dempsey, rider of Illtakeitfromhere contributed to the false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 208, in that he anticipated the start and disobeyed the starters instructions and having considered his record, suspended him for three race days. A.E. Lynch, rider of Carpet Elegance trained by Thomas J.Farrell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered in running.
