See also » Winning-gamble-thrown-out-in-stewards-room we had no explanation for his Killarney run. He came out of the race perfect. We actually rode him out the next day and we normally wouldn't. I saw this over two miles and I thought it would suit him. I was a bit worried when I saw the last was to be omitted. My initial thoughts were that there wasn't an awful lot in it, but when I saw the head on there was enough. I obviously feel sorry for Paul Power (trainer of Bakers Street) and Jeannie Cook, I know them well and they are friends of mine. Dark Outsider has been a great servant and that's his fifth win. He'll go to Tramore next week - he is probably better going left-handed but he has won around Tramore before. Danny was brilliant on him. He has always been the key to him. Owing to the low lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for fence #4 to be omitted from this race
The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last involving Dark Outsider, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed second and Bakers Street (GB), ridden by Miss J.M. Cook, placed first, where it appeared Dark Outsider was bumped and carried off his line before the winning post. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Bakers Street had caused interference to Dark Outsider and in doing so had improved his finishing position. The stewards therefore reversed the placings of the first two horses and took no further action
The result now reads: 1st Dark Outsider, 2nd Bakers Street(GB) 3rd Icelip 4th Rebellion Boy 5th Omega Springs 6th Samson Bill
