An enquiry was held to consider why John Bridger was running Aegean Mist (GB) here at Windsor on going described as Good to Firm, having declared the filly a non-runner at Lingfield Park on 3 August 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that Aegean Mist (GB) had been declared on ground that was Good, Good to Soft in places with showers forecast prior to racing and although the predicted showers had not deposited as much rain at Windsor as expected, with options running out for the filly the owner was keen for Aegean Mist (GB) to take its chance.
An enquiry was held to consider why Denis Coakley was running Lily Of Year (FR) here at Windsor on going described as Good to Firm, having declared the filly a non-runner at Lingfield Park on 3 August 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that with warm temperatures at Lingfield Park there was a likelihood of the ground drying further and with Windsor having received some recent rainfall with more showers forecast the owner was keen for Lily Of Year (FR) to take its chance.
Permission was given for Hellovaqueen (GB) to be mounted in the chute and Lily Of Year (FR) to go early to post.
Sebastian Woods, the rider of Wotadoll (GB), drawn 10, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 1 day.
Following the race, Elisha Whittington reported that the saddle slipped on Under Curfew (GB), placed second, approaching the intersection.
