- Stewards Report
Permission was given for Seaforth (IRE) to go early to post.
Rhys Clutterbuck, the rider of Anniemation (IRE), drawn 7, was slow to remove the blindfold, resulting in the gelding being slowly away.
Clutterbucks' explanation that the blindfold became stuck on the bridle, causing him to lose his grip and therefore required a second attempt to remove was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Miss Sligo (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Saffie Osborne and Irish Times (GB), placed second, ridden by Sebastian Woods.
Being a 7lb claimer, Osborne was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Woods was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to lean left-handed, putting pressure on Miss Sligo (IRE), carrying that filly of its intended line for some distance, forcing Osborne to ultimately take a check.
The performance of Al Ozzdi (GB) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Roger Fell explained that the horsebox had been stuck in traffic on the way to the racecourse which in their opinion may have affected the gelding’s performance.
Harry Russell reported that Al Ozzdi (GB) was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
