The Starter reported that Special Mayson (GB) broke out of the stalls and was withdrawn at 14.

Pam Sly was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately a furlong after the start when the winner, Prince Of Bel Lir (IRE), ridden by Daniel Muscutt interfered with Palifico (GB), placed second, ridden by Robert Tart.
Muscutt was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed causing the rider of Palifico (GB) to take a slight check.
The winner Prince Of Bel Lir (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 9 April 2022 where the gelding finished twelfth of fourteen, beaten 11 ¼ lengths.
Joseph Parr’s explanation that Prince Of Bel Lir (IRE) benefited from having its first run of the season at Thirsk, after a 175 day break and the reapplication of cheekpieces was noted.
Prince Of Bel Lir (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Kieran O’Neill reported that Mehmo (IRE), placed sixth, hung badly right-handed and Laura Pearson reported that Little Brown Trout (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
