An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the line, between Dark Shot (GB), placed second, ridden by Ben Curtis and Poetry (GB), placed third, ridden by David Egan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Dark Shot (GB)’s placing as although the gelding had edged marginally right, Poetry (GB) had also shifted left causing the runners to come together, with no momentum lost and the margin a short head.
The interference was found to be accidental as both riders were taking sufficient steps to keep their mounts straight.
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Caspian Prince (IRE), placed fourth, hung right in the final furlong.
