Outsider Stander touches down in front
That's very much a surprise. He's not a bad horse to work at home but from his first couple of runs we felt that he'd want easier ground. Adam is invaluable to me. He's having a great season and he fully deserves it because he's probably the best young lad that I've seen to work, nothing is a problem to him, and he's great for giving me feedback on a horse.
Light shines under Walsh for O'Grady
Toor General makes the breakthrough
A great man owns him, James Nash (from Scarriff, Co Clare), and he's been threatening to do that for a while. He hasn't ran that often but is a horse that needs time between races. He jumps well and hopefully could develop into a real nice chaser next year. He goes on good ground, and his jumping was very good and slick today.
Lord too good for Nap
He's very nervous of other horses and I'd say the fact that he was on his own and Paul (Townend) kept away from him was a help. He always showed us plenty of ability but he's been a long time about getting his head there.
Walsh doubles-up on Dont Kick Nor Bite
Clara completes 54/1 double for Meade
He was bound for the sales and I pleaded for him, so they kept him, and hopefully he’ll go on now and build on that.
Griffin & Codd on the mark with Quary
He's a nice horse but still has a bit of growing up to do. He's green but had enough in the tank to do it. I'm a bit undecided now whether to kick on over hurdles or go for a winners' bumper. Jamie felt he's good enough for a winners' bumper but he's a bit keen and we might be better off going the hurdle route.
