Clonmel Thu, 14th Apr, 2022  Fanoir When we entered her the race was 2m2f but when I declared yesterday morning it was 2m3f and 137 yards and I thought 'oh my God'! . She travelled well over two miles in Thurles the last day when she was obviously beaten by a fair horse and I didn't mind stepping up two furlongs, but didn't want three or more. I got no notification but presume the change was due to the starting position of the race and the handicap hurdle was also changed. I said to the owner we had to run as it wasn't a brilliant mares' maiden and we'd learn whether she stays or not. When I saw her being so keen, I thought she'd never get home but she stayed. She jumps well and will be a smashing mare for the summer.

Clonmel Thu, 14th Apr, 2022  Crosshouse Boy He is a lovely horse, is well bred and he ran very well on his first couple of runs. He disappointed in the middle of the winter but I think it was the ground and we brought him back at Limerick three weeks ago after a break and he just got tired turning in. He stayed on well today. He'll be a summer horse and will go chasing eventually. I don't think it was a fantastic race but the syndicate will have plenty of fun for the summer.

Limerick Tue, 1st Feb, 2022  Mi Lighthouse The mare travelled everywhere, jumped savage and I was just coming to join Jack (Foley on La Prima Donna) at the second last. Unlucky for him he went down at the second last. I thought I had loads of mare so it would have been a good battle to the line if his mare stood up. I gave my filly a slap down the shoulder turning in and she was very fast to go and join La Prima Donna to the second last. I was delighted to get the ride on her and I knew I wasn't going to be too far away. I gave her a school yesterday morning. I'm from Co Carlow, five minutes from Willie. I started off in James Barcoe's and from there I went to Willie's. I'm there about two and a half years. It is a brilliant experience to be there learning every day and riding top horses and riding with top jockeys. You couldn't be in a better place. I'm in Willie's full-time for two and a half years and turned conditional three weeks ago and would take outside rides.
