Buffer Zone We thought he was a Group horse in a handicap but they have to deliver. He’s been very straightforward since we got him and has gradually moved up the ranks. It never really looked in doubt. He’s a very progressive horse and hopefully he turns into a Group horse. He’s in the Ayr Gold Cup next week. It’s not our style to return (that quick). David (Spratt, part owner) and I will sit down and make a plan.

Queen Amidala The draw gave her no chance at Galway and I know she won but I'm not sure about the ground,. She didn't seem to be travelling turning but it was toughness kept her in it and her battling qualities won it for her. We'll go the handicap route next.

Arabeska The plan was to jump and lead but she missed the kick. She's a grand filly. For some reason she doesn't run as well on straight tracks but then she did run a cracker down in Cork when John Oxx's horse beat us. He didn't move us in the handicap for that but then put us up 8lb for winning here. She liked that ground and she stayed well. I'd love to stick a bit of black-type on her by the end of the year. She's after winning two races now and she's really for the breeding end now. It gives us more of an option that she did that on that ground. I thought she battled well to do it when she got out.

Viadera we were very nervous coming down with the weather forecast but the lads got it spot on and the ground is beautiful and good. She loves good or better, the trip but her heart won it today. She had a tough campaign in the last month or so and that was a negative coming into this but she fought like a lion. This was the main aim to win this and I'm delighted. With a heart like that, it will help her when we step her up in trip as well and we'll find it (a plan) as we go.

Buffer Zone My initial reaction was that we got it but then when I looked at it again I thought they had nabbed us,. He's been showing plenty and I thought he'd want anywhere from six to seven. I thought that whoever beats him would win today. He's only been on the all-weather for us so I didn't know about ground but he's very very straight-forward at home and I thought that this was a good start for his career. We'll have to see where we go now and if he progresses. His work at home is very behind the bridle and I thought he ran very keen today — it nearly cost him. Credit to Gaelic Bloodstock as they just keep finding these horses. How I don't know but as long as they keep doing it.

Mistress Of Venice With her two-year-old form it was hugely important to get a winning bracket. She missed her three-year-old career, but ran a nice race following her layoff at Navan and stepped forward again at Dundalk. It is proper soft now and she probably isn't in love with it. It is good to get the win and hopefully she can go back up into Stakes company now. We'll try and find a Stakes race now over five or six. With her confidence back she might be able to go on now.

Arabeska I thought she was very unlucky the last day to bump into what is probably a good horse of John Oxx's (Highland Dress),. She did nothing wrong and I thought she ran a lovely race in Cork. She ran a lovely race there again. You'd nearly say she's a handicapper in amongst maidens as she's so professional. We'll see what the handicapper does now. The syndicate (the Imperial Crown Syndicate) like to get black-type for fillies to go on and breed from eventually. They are the same owners as Nitro Boost. We'll be looking for a bit of black-type for her in the long run.
