Make A Challenge Joey said there might not be much pace so I told him not to be afraid to go on if they are only hacking and he did. He’s well able to ride, and if he can keep his feet on the ground and stays working away hard we’ll make a job of him. He’s signed on to me and he’s a good worker. If he keeps the head down he has a right good chance as he’s light and rides well. The yard is rocking and it’s good that they are still in good form as we are heading to Epsom on Saturday. I’m looking forward to it. Hathiq is in super nick. He went off at mid-day today. He got 11lb but just has a 4lb penalty on Saturday and has a brilliant draw on the stands’ side in 18. I know it’s a massive step up but he deserves to take his chance at the weights. He’s bounced out of the Curragh but he’ll have to change gear again at the weekend.

Onlyhuman he was a bit unlucky in Leopardstown and has done it well today. He will get 1m4f and as long as there is a bit of an ease in the ground we'll keep going with him. We said we were going to step him up in trip because he is going hurdling. He is a super jumper, I have him well schooled and that's probably why he is settling better. He will go hurdling after the new season starts on May 1 but I might give him another run in a flat race before.

Mutadaawel He did it well, he's still very green and immature,. On his first run he missed the break. Oisin said that it took him a long time to get him pulled up there. He was only getting going and when he hit top gear he did it well. I was very happy with him. He was a cheap horse that I bought for the Shahs and it's great. I knew he had improved and the horses are in good form so hopefully we can keep them at it. We'll see what mark he gets now. I don't think I've had a horse as good as him at this early stage before. The lads love him at home and we'll have to see where we go now. He's a nice horse and we'll look after him. I could even step him back to seven as although it looks like he was staying on, when the penny really drops with him he has plenty of speed.

Yuften I thought he'd win but hadn't really convinced myself he would. I only started with John Feane a week ago and found out on Thursday that I'd be riding the horse so I was delighted to see my name down for him. Fair play to the boss as he had him in super order for me today. Turning in I was having to take him back and was just waiting for the moment to let him down. It was unreal. I was with Michael Halford before and he was good to me as well. I learned a lot there and the lads helped me a lot in the yard. I’m delighted for Dean and he’s a good kid. I told him not to panic. He’s learning and all young lads need chances so we’ll try and give him a few more. James Mescall picked up this horse for 7,500 (at the Newmarket Horses In Training Sale) and he’s won two now quite impressive. He’s paying his way.
