Blazing Khal It was a good race and he had the experience and it was a big help,. We'll probably look for a winners' bumper next as there isn't much point in going jumping at this stage of the season. That was my first winner this week - the horses weren't over-exciting and I was stunned the fellow yesterday (Pairc Na Ngael) got beaten. We got the win here anyway which was the main thing.

Regina Dracones she was entitled to do that after the last day. She was very unlucky on her previous run as she fell when still well in it at Navan. She’s a solid filly and it took her a while to get her act together. Kalanisi’s seem to take a lot of time but she’s definitely going in the right direction.

Ragin Cajun He’s a horse that wouldn’t show you a whole lot at home, he’s quite lazy at home so it’s hard to judge him. That’s why we threw the cheek-pieces on him. It’s better that way when they don’t show much at home and do it on the track. Obviously it is his first run for a long time, we’ll see how he comes out of that and all being well we will kick on.

Cask Mate I wasn't sure if he'd get 2m4f but he (Flanagan) said he'd get another half (mile). I told him to wait but he said he just took him there easily. The reason I ran him at 2m4f was I thought there wasn't another Rated race for a while and I didn't want to run him in a Graded race but he'll be a Graded horse now. It is such a pity for the people who own him (High Spirits Racing Club) who have been with me years and used to work in the (Slane) Distillery. They love racing so much it is a pity they are not here to see it.

A Girl Like Me I'm thrilled for the owners (Maria Hinfelaar and her husband Graham Upton) who are great people, have been with me a long time and it is unfortunate they couldn't be here. The plan for her (A Girl Like Me) is to mix between hurdles and fences and hopefully she can give us another day out please god.

Midland Millie I bought her and Fag An Bealach as foals from William Flood on the same day about six years ago and they have both now won in the space of a few days. She’s a nice mare and will pay her way through the winter. She’s owned by the nicest man in the world, Mr Trappe. He’s so genuine and I trained a winner for him in Thurles about ten years ago which is the only other winner that he’s had. He gets so much pleasure out of it. Rachael rode out for us when she was at college in Dublin for a couple of winters and I’ve always wanted her to ride a winner for us. I have ten in training at the moment but they are a nice bunch and all seem healthy and well.
