Goodnightngodbless She was just beaten by the bob of a head the last day in Wexford and got her just reward today. She missed a couple of weeks after Wexford as she got a nasty cut on her knee so that’s why we were so long getting her back on the track. Darragh was brilliant on her and gave her a super ride. I told him she might be caught for a bit of toe early doors but she stays well. She seems to be a stronger filly this year, and last year she was a bit immature. We’ll see what’s coming up in the next couple of weeks and pick something out.

My Peggy she has just been a filly that has taken time. We fancied her a bit at the start but just wee niggly things have held her up. She has just started to come together recently with a bit of age and maybe she'll pick up something else at this same level. She'll probably go for another handicap now if she is not sold. I train in Banbridge, Co Down and work as a farrier. I only have a few horses as a part-time job.

Don't Let Go That was super and a great pot to get with her. She's been in and out a bit but I'd say she's better over fences. She got caught in a bit at Downpatrick and Sligo over hurdles and didn't enjoy it. She'd a great run in Punchestown the last day which gave her a bit of confidence, and the small field today suited her. That's a hurdle and chase won with her now but I'd say she'll definitely stay chasing now. Ricky gave her a super ride and I just told him to go out and ride her with plenty of confidence, wait all day, and he did that. He's a very good 5lb claimer and a great lad in the yard.

The West's Awake The owners (Mrs John Magnier) have been very patient as he hurt himself when he fell in Killarney last August. Ger Kelly in Fethard Veterinary did a great job as he had a chip in a bone in his hock. He was supposed to run in the Festival at Punchestown but when we schooled him he overreached himself and he couldn't run. He was off for about a week and I thought he might be a bit short today but he jumped himself there. He was probably the only horse that jumped well. Hopefully he'll improve and he'll probably end up in the west at the end of July. He might go for the Galway Plate qualifier in Kilbeggan.

Longhouse Poet He's done nothing but please us since we got him. He won his point-to-point well and he jumps really. Derek liked him so he recommended him and he's a good judge. I only have him since February and he's really thrived since I got him. He'll go jumping in the autumn and he's a real winter horse really. He handled that ground nicely and he's a lovely horse to look forward to.

Dragon Houdini That was brilliant. I suppose the light weight, 10st1lb on her back, made a difference,. She ran well to finish fourth around here before in a maiden hurdle and the step up in trip pat Navan today helped, being by Yeats she probably appreciated that. My horses are are in good form. We are doing nothing different but they are in good form. She probably likes a bit of nice ground and I wouldn't like to run her in real heavy ground. I'm delighted to get a win for Michael (Smith, owner); we bought her at the Derby sale and he had the faith in me to buy her.
