Bellewstown Sat, 2nd Jul, 2022  Anna Bunina I keep going on about her size but her with top-weight there, unbelievable! . She won the Scottish Champion Hurdle and people would have thought that would be it for the year. She's after going on and winning a Listed race and then I ran her again. She is much better going left-handed and even now, we were only running her because the owner was back from America. With the top weight we were going 'oh God!' but she was really good. Shane gave her a peach of a ride and took his time with her. Her jumping just keeps her there and he's won too far in the end!

Bellewstown Thu, 30th Jun, 2022  The Pargey Bee He does have a think about the game, I think he is a bit of a deep thinker. He likes to have a cigar before he puts his head in front!. He did it, though, and he did it without headgear so you can't fault him. He's maybe just a late bloomer mentally, but hopefully the penny might drop now. I think he is still green and I'm delighted for the guys that got him, he wasn't an expensive horse. He has given them a lot of fun but it is all being well being placed, but you want to get that win so you can breathe a sigh of relief! They are delighted. Siobhan (Rutledge) gave him a peach, she wasn't taking no for an answer.

Down Royal Sat, 18th Jun, 2022  Wild Shot On a lot of his hurdles runs, he was entitled to go very close here. He's a really, really impossible horse to predict and train because you have to train him 70 per cent of what I train the other horses. He is kept fresh all the time so you are never sure you have him fit. What a horse, I think he has won nine or 10 in total. I think he has won four or five for me and you see the size of him. He carried top weight in Tramore the last day. He seems to be better over hurdles. He'll mix it and end up in Galway I'd say either on the Flat or over hurdles. I'd say he will go to the UK as he is a novice so I might pick up a novice over there at some point. He'll probably end up at Cheltenham in October. He was there last year and actually ran a really good race. We thought we only had to turn up in Dundalk a couple of times and he didn't fire and I don't know if he is still in love with it as he was. He's going on in years and coming October time he will probably have earned a break.

Down Royal Sat, 18th Jun, 2022  Fennor Cross You see the size of him, he's big and he is probably only filling out into himself now. That's probably where the improvement has come and we've stepped him up in trip again. He'll stay further. I'd say he will go to Galway now. We will probably go up to a mile and a half there, he doesn't owe us anything and the lads are over the moon. Donagh actually said he thought he might be too close as they were going that quick and something might nab him from behind, but he picked up all the way to the line. He switched off lovely and you can ride him any way. He's one to look forward to. I wouldn't mind jumping a hurdle some day with him either. We were talking about it and then I was vetoed! . We'll put that on the back burner for now, but he would jump a hurdle. He would be exciting going over hurdles.

Leopardstown Thu, 16th Jun, 2022  Smaoineamh Sile I'm delighted for Peter (Commane), he's been a very lucky owner for me, he's had three Sheilas and they've all won now. We were scratching our heads over whether we'd get this girl to win. She has the ability but she's a lady and likes to do things her own way. She hit the line well there and we're delighted. She probably came on from the run the last day and Dylan was really good on her, he gave her a peach of a ride.

Listowel Mon, 6th Jun, 2022  Hot As Pepper we fancied her getting the weight and were a bit unsure about the ground but I thought she would handle it. She is a tough galloping filly and had won a point to point. It looks like she goes on any ground, stays and can jump and the lads will have plenty of fun with her. They are new owners (Dream's Alive Syndicate) and I'm delighted to get a win on board for them. We will probably go for a winners' bumper and then go hurdling.
