Today's scheduled flat fixture at Gowran has been cancelled due to heavy rain since declaration time.
An 8am inspection had been called for this morning with the course being found to be unfit for racing.
Clerk of the Course Paddy Graffin says “following a total of 15mm of rain yesterday, the track at Gowran is now unfit for racing. Despite having a fresh racing line the ground has just had too much racing and the track if unfit for flat racing.
“Unfortunately the heavy showers yesterday brought us to 30mm of rain since declarations with in the region of 40mm of rain since entries closed last Thursday. This has left us with no choice but to cancel the fixture scheduled for today.”
