Well-backed Bloom bags Down Royal's opener
Chocquinto collects with second June success
she's a nice filly and she wants good ground and an easy five (furlongs). I fancied her but I was just a bit disappointed with being drawn 10. Sam claimed 5lb and gave her a lovely ride. There's a race for her in about 10 days time in the Junction (Tipperary) - it's an easy five and that's what she wants. Tim (Bourke, owner) is also the breeder and the dam is in foal again.
Brave Display registers sixth success
Seamie gave him a great ride and in fairness he had ability before, so some days he turns up and some days he doesn't. Seamie said to me that I ran him back probably a little bit too quick on yielding ground but the ground today suited him. I think he really enjoyed the ground and we just changed sheepskin cheekpieces to blinkers.
First turf win for War Hero
Cian (MacRedmond) gave him a great ride; they were going very quick early and the plan was to sit handy but he was very patient. He took the widest route but the safest route for a clean run. He is a good, fun horse who might be seen at the likes of Bellewstown through the summer. You run off the turf mark in Laytown so that could be a plan in September.

Veteran Gallagher wins Ulster Oaks
Prime Chief wins on reappearance
we have a form-line on those races between Never Missed A Beat and Divine Celt (stablemates and recent winners) and he has been working fairly well at home, so we knew he had a shout.
Halford hopeful with 'smart' Silaiyli
he's very laidback and even today out of the stalls he was a slow learner and Ronan (Whelan) said he had to bustle him along to get him travelling. He could be a typical one of his Highness', a slow maturing horse, he has a beautiful nature and the penny is only starting to drop with him. He's probably a horse to keep improving and I was impressed with him today - I'd say he is a very smart horse. His first run in Naas he ran well and then I took him to Navan and I thought he'd run a big race and . He got lost the second day at Navan when they went fast and they didn't stop but we went to Gowran and it was more like I was hoping he would do and he has improved from Gowran. He is a strong individual, just does the minimum at home and minds himself. He's an ideal racehorse with a great mind and the way he did that, I'll bide my time and see. I like them when they start going forward at this time of year.
