Molly Wedger battles back to win mares hurdle
she bounced back after her bad run in Bellewstown - the trip might have been a bit short for her but she never carried him. Maybe she just doesn't enjoy the firm ground and we'll try and keep her on ground with a cut in it. This was great ground and was ideal. Brian gave her a lovely patient ride and maybe got first run on Jack Kennedy (on runner-up Hollymount), which was a help. We'll try and find something in Galway for her.
Second success for Kelly & Son
he has been promising all the time, the horses are running well and he had his ground. We were a little worried stepping him up to 2m4f but he had been second over it before. He was unlucky the last day when he was boxed in but today's race went nicely for him.

the ride wasn't by design as I lost my position but it worked out well. He is a bit lairy but it is a big drop in grade for him. He had been running terribly all winter and we gave him a freshen up recently. He was a good juvenile but they get killed by the handicapper and was a victim of his own success. He paid the penalty for the last year and a half. I said to Liam (Mulryan) about riding him colder and he has been working really well. I haven't seen Liam at a racecourse for 10 years so when I saw him today I knew he fancied him too. I'm delighted for him as he has been a loyal supporter since I started training. He always has two or three in training with me and I enjoy talking to him regularly on the phone. Originally the plan was to go Galway but it was Liam who made this plan - he said 'everyone wants to go to Galway but Killarney would do me'.

Mon Coeur rewards those that kept faith
I was worried all day as I was afraid of the ground - I thought he wanted a bit more ease and I'm walking this track all day and it is good to firm in places. We always liked him, he has a great pedigree and hasn't done anything wrong. We may enter him for a bumper in Galway and I'd say he'll also run on the flat.
