Fahey delighted to put a win on the board for Heffernan
I always thought a lot of her, she was second in a maiden as a two year old and you could draw a line through her last run as I ran her back quick with it was her last chance to run,. We didn't have her in for the early part of the season and were waiting for ease in the ground. I texted the owner (John Heffernan) before today's race and said this is as quick as she'd want it and Declan said she got away with it. I'm delighted for John, who was a couple of years below me in school. He bred her and is only up the road from me and I'm delighted to train a winner for him. He has the whole family and I'd love to think she could get black-type somewhere along the line.
Curragh November form shines through at Killarney in July
He is a lovely, tall, big, strong and very good looking horse and we gave him plenty of time. He had a very good run on his last run as a three year old and is from a good pedigree,. He'll keep improving and is one to look forward to - we might look at a winners' race next.
Sincerest comes good in style
80/1 Killarney double for Murphy
She is very tough, genuine and has been unlucky two or three times. She deserved that, goes on any ground and these are hard horses to get,. Her owners have had a hard time with covid, they are Florida based and come over regularly but it has been difficult this year. Robert (Moran) is an owner/breeder and while she'll continue in handicaps, it would be great if she eventually got black-type.
Carroll excels on Great Bear
That was brilliant and I didn't expect it to be honest as it was a bit of a prep run for Galway and we thought he'd need it,. He is very tough and I'm delighted for the horse to get his head in front and delighted for his owner Tom O'Connor as he has been second a clatter of times for us. He ran some good races on the flat last year and the amateur handicap at Galway was the plan and we'll stick to that. He is class to do anything with, he is honest and tries and is a pleasure to train.
Roche Optimistic for Killarney winner Belief going forward
The Blue Brilliant lands Killarney feature
I'm delighted with her and while the ground was as quick as she wanted it, she did it and did it well. She is fairly laid-back about everything but I think she is a nice filly and we'll look for black-type before the end of the year. She took on the older horses there, which is hard to do because they are battle-hardened and it was her first handicap. She'll get every bit of 1m4f and slower ground would also suit.
Monas Melody takes charge in Killarney finale
She is very good and came on a lot from the last day. She has got black-type already in bumpers and while that (1m6f) would be her bare minimum, she could get black-type on the flat too if she got a longer race,. Pa gave her a great ride, he rides lots of our point to pointers and it is great he got a winner there. I'm not sure what to do next - she could go for the 2m5f maiden hurdle at Galway but I'll speak to Alfie (Sweetnam, owner) as she is still for sale. I always thought she wanted softer ground but she seems very at home on that and we'll keep her going for the summer.
