Tipperary Tue, 28th May, 2024  Come On The Lads He has disappointed since his first run so we dropped him into claiming company today and it all came good. These claimers are great for that reason and we've had our day now, albeit in moderate company. Somebody will now have fun with him going forward and I'd imagine he'll jump a hurdle as well.

Roscommon Mon, 20th May, 2024  Deo Vero I'm delighted with that. We thought the last day was a lovely introduction, even though she didn't get the breaks. I couldn't have asked for a better day out. I don't think she's too bad, she's been working well at home. I was wondering today if we were going to get going at all, Chris says she's still a bit green but I'm very happy with that. I think there is a winners of one in Leopardstown in the middle of June and we'll see how that goes. Hopefully the plan is to try and get a bit of black-type. We'll see how this race works out over time as well. She's a grand lady. Chris said she missed the break again today, I wouldn't mind but she's been out through the stalls during the week. I was thinking she'd be handy today, because she's on the steel, but her timing isn't great as she breaks fast at home but missed it there. We'll work on that.

Sligo Wed, 15th May, 2024  Castleheath He's a lovely, tough, honest horse and I'm very happy with that. He came forward for his first run. Obviously it's a hard track when you've little experience but he handled it well and got the job done. Ben was very good on him. I'd a horse like him last year, Bottler'secret, and he's very much in the same mould. We left him on the side as a two-year-old for this job and he's a nice horse going forward. The Slevins are local to me and this is the first horse they've had with me, so I'm delighted for them.

Roscommon Mon, 13th May, 2024  Play It Again Zaam I was delighted to see the rain but at the same time it made it loose. He looked very impressive the last day on real tacky ground as it slows them down and he can plough through it,. Today on looser ground they are able to get going and stay going and he just ground it out. It's nice to get two in a week. The runner-up has good form around here and it was a good weight carrying performance by her. We looked well in on paper but realistically he's been trying to win a 65 for a long time and it's nice to win a couple. He's in again on Friday (at Leopardstown) and we might take a chance again, we'll see how he is. He seems to be thriving on his racing and he might have got a bit of confidence for winning. We'll see what the ground is and we might roll the dice again.

Gowran Park Wed, 8th May, 2024  Play It Again Zaam He’s been running well, running consistently and it’s nice to get off the mark. I rode him myself the last day and he ran a blinder but I thought I should have claimed off him. Robert rides out for me along with James Ryan and it’s nice to give him a winner as well. I had my last ride over jumps at Down Royal on Monday and I’m focusing on training and riding a bit on the Flat for the summer. We have 18 in at the minute. We have seven in training and the rest are breakers. We’re nice and busy and building up our facilities. We have some Flat horses and some jumpers, and I wouldn’t mind training plenty of Flat horses. The last few years I’ve focussed a lot on the Flat and rode out for a lot of trainers. I’ve kept my eyes open and learned something everywhere I go so hopefully it will pay off.

Dundalk Fri, 12th Apr, 2024  Jazz Forever I think he's a nice horse and he needs to learn to settle - he was too keen today. Dylan did a great job on him. He'll need good ground and he'll go hurdling as well, he jumps really well.

Dundalk Fri, 9th Feb, 2024  Dreams Fled Away It is great to get Colin, he's a local man too. He was very strong on him in the finish, he takes a bit of that the horse. Isn't it amazing what a win does to a horse? It boosts their confidence and, even at home, he has a pep in his step. I don't know how far the horse will take us. I think he will jump a hurdle in time too, we schooled him at home and he is able to jump. He'll tell us (about coming back here) and then the turf will be opening up. He obviously wants nice ground. We have a few options.

Dundalk Fri, 9th Feb, 2024  Inishmot Prince He was going nowhere at the beginning of the straight, the usual. A strong pace and he seems to know where the line is!. He just got stopped at the wrong time as well and just had to snatch him up. He seems to love it up here. He always does it the hard way!. Newcastle for the All-Weather Championships is definitely what I am looking at now. I'd probably rather go to Newcastle (than Lingfield). He deserves to get a decent pot at this stage. I'm still of the opinion that he will win on grass. He ran a blinder on his first run back in Bellewstown where he finished out in his normal way. Then he seemed to lose his form more than anything else, he just wasn't firing. Maybe it is just here, but he has earned a try at Newcastle. He's a nice horse to be able to run in those type of races.
