Moyglare entrant Greek Goddess was pretty easy in the market (15/8 out to 5/2) for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden but that didn't stop her bringing up an opening race double for Ballydoyle at Killarney.

Seamie Heffernan was patient on Soon in the first but Joseph O'Brien (put up 2Ibs overweight at 9st 2Ib) elected to be always on the gallop with Greek Goddess.

The once previously raced daughter of Galileo looked like she might struggle to contain promising newcomer Salhooda from the furlong pole but she pulled out plenty to beat that one and Nurpur by three parts of a length and the same.

For those that invested in the gamble on Long Away (around 8s this morning into 100/30, was reported to have run short of room shortly after the start and had to check) things were looking bleak from the half-way stage and she finished sixth in the end.

Joseph O'Brien said: "The ground is testing but she stays the trip well. Hopefully she can now progress." (TW & EM)
