Brokopondo completed a quickfire 104/1 double for trainer Johnny Levins when coming out on top in a thrilling finish to the concluding Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk.
Stable apprentice Donagh O'Connor challenged on the outer aboard the 6/1 chance, and wore down Mademoiselle Penny inside the final furlong. Sea Of Blue finished best of all and only failed by a short-head, with the aforementioned Mademoiselle Penny just a head further back in third.
Curragh-based Levins was on the mark half-an-hour earlier with the Gary Carroll-ridden Brosnan (14/1).
Levins said, ""I'm absolutely delighted for Declan (Kiernan, owner) who is an absolute gent. He has persevered with the horse and been justly rewarded.
"I'm also delighted for Donagh who gave him an absolute peach of a ride. He's a worse loser than me so it's good he came out the right side of the finish!"
