Carberry excels on Bay

Sat 6th Feb 2010, 16:39

Paul Carberry was seen at his brilliant best on Across The Bay smooth three and a half length winner of the Panoramic Restaurant Package At Naas Beginners Chase.

The Meath pilot only had to exert the very minimum of pressure on the run-in to get his mount (9/2 into 4/1) to go on and account for the favourite, Kimberlite King (jumped a bit sticky) by three and a half lengths.

Noel Meade couldn't hide his delight at Carberry's performance, saying: "That's the way to ride. It was probably as good an execution of a ride as you'd ever see on ground that was very bad.

"He'll go for a winners race and we have plenty of options as he gets three miles. That was a good performance first time over fences."
