The Denis Coakley owned Table Forty Six made all as she ran out a game winner of the opener at Clonmel, the Tipperary Claiming Race, scoring under Coakley’s son Ross.

Trained by Denis Cullen, the eight-year-old daughter of Refuse To Bend won at Dundalk in March but had been ultimately disappointing since with her handicap mark on the turf dropping from 59 to 51.

Sent off a 20/1 chance this afternoon she broke smartly to lead and soon went on.

Her advantage was reduced as they approached the turn for home but she kept on well when ridden from two furlongs out, going on to score by half a length at the line. Gun Shoot was doing her best work towards the finish and she took second at 7/2 under Colin Keane for Pat Martin.

After winning at Laytown last week Prince Jock was sent off the 4/7 favourite under Ronan Whelan for Pat Shanahan.

He came under pressure approaching the straight and it was soon apparent he had no more to offer as he trailed home a very disappointing fifth of the seven runners.

The winner was recording her fifth win on the level today while she also has two wins over hurdles to her name.
