Jim Culloty’s Court Knee justified 2/1 favouritism in the extended two mile five handicap hurdle at Downpatrick.

The seven-year-old mare raced just off the lead before hitting the front coming to the second last. She forged on for a six and a half length victory over High Talk (13/2) with Lake Return a further two lengths back in third at 11/2.

“She’s crying out for good ground. That’ll make the journey home shorter!” Jim Culloty said.

“She’s a fun mare and honest and has a good pedigree. We’ll see if we can win again with her. She’ll not be jumping fences, but she’ll run away over the summer and then we’ll cover her.” Over Presented was well supported this morning from 16/1 to 9/1. He went off at 10s but fell two out. Bennative had plenty of support at the track from 16/1 to 10/1, but after leading he faded to finish fifth.
