Claiming jockey Luke Dempsey followed up a successful weekend with another winner at Leopardstown today, steering Do Be Doin' to win the O'Callaghan Hotels Handicap Chase for trainer Martin Hassett.
Dempsey, based with trainer Gordon Elliott, has made a fine impact in recent weeks and having ridden three winners last weekend, again showed his ability when guiding Do Be Doin' to a length victory over Toomdeely
Co Tipperary based Hassett later commented "he's a bit of an enigma but he's always shown us a bit. He's just been struggling with the weights.
"The last day we thought we had him in good shape but some days he does it and some days he doesn't; today was one of his better days!"
"We had to take the 5lb off him (Luke Dempsey's claim) to give him every chance and Luke is a man on fire. He gave him a peach of a ride and he jumped like a stag. Everything fired today."
