Doransfirth survives enquiry at Galway
Connections of Doransfirth had to survive a lengthy Stewards’ Enquiry to eventually hold the Ryans Events Cleaners Handicap Hurdle at Galway today, having passed the post a short head ahead of The
Doransfirth.
Doranfirth, under Keith Clarke, hit the front entering the straight and although she edged slightly right on the run-in, short head runner-up The Lady Granuaile was only fractionally, if at all, hampered by the move.
The Stewards’ Enquiry that followed was lengthy but no alteration was made.
Ballygar, Co Galway based trainer David Kelly briefly mentioned “Doransfirth was in great form coming into the race and will run next in a mares’ race at Listowel.”
