Mon 2nd May 2011, 17:37

Tom Doyle completed a 175/1 treble (having earlier won aboard Rockshandy & Moon Dice when he got Noble Commander home in front in the SCA Nutrition handicap chase for trainer James Halpin.

The Charente River gelding came up alongside leader Frances Du Mesnil before the last and took over with ease before stretching clear on the run in to win by six lengths at odds of 7/1.

Mick Darcy took a nasty fall from Presenting Prince at the last fence and he suffered a suspected broken foot. He was taken to Kilkenny hospital for x-rays.

This was the 8yo’s third career win having won a bumper at the Galway Festival back in 2008 before winning a maiden hurdle in September of the same year at Down Royal.

Winning rider Tom Doyle said afterwards, "That was great, it was good to come from behind and win for a change. This is my first treble in Ireland, I had one in England before."
